Another way of looking at the idea of an electric forcing is to predict WHEN you would expect to see the forcing applied.  Lightning is greatest in the summer in the northern hemisphere because most lightning occurs over land and there simply is more land in the northern hemisphere.  Looking at this image, the area where there is the sharpest curve of lost ice in the Arctic is in the summer months. Also the MSU data is quite clear that most of the warming observed is in the Northern Hemisphere.  So called skeptics have pointed this out for years that CO2 is distributed uniformly and so an increase of it simply from a heat retaining perspective would not predict a hemispheric difference. Moreover, at 4 watts per meter squared the forcing of CO2 as a green house gas would require a cloud feedback, and in the northern hemisphere three is less water for such a feedback to occur.  Again the prediction should be that the feedback either be uniform or in the southern hemisphere, which incidentally is closer to the sun in the winter . . .

Instead, the MSU data shows warming in the northern hemisphere and the melting Artic is confined to a time when the global electrical circuit is strongest and global lightning is at its peak.
