And even as this happens to surrounding states the Louisiana government is willing to risk more spills from more drilling ! Louisiana is claiming that its economy rests on new offshore drilling as if the existing productive wells were not enough to keep their economy afloat.As I said earlier,this sounds like a bunch of bunk;however,if it is true then I declare that we do not need anymore evidence that it is time to scrap our entire economic system from one dependent upon money , debt , private control of collectivly needed resources and continuous expansion to one based upon need,enviromental sustainability,public ownership of commonly needed resources and a drive towards stability. We can no longer afford to promote unnessacary private profit and power at the expense of our planet nor the collective democratic rights of the people as a whole.Enough is enough,this nonsense must end ! |
