Multiple vortices within a single storm seem to be a phenomenon associated either with extremely powerful systems or with very weak systems. I've seen several cat fives in recent seasons in which multiple vortices could be seen whirling around within the eye--a truly extraordinary sight! But obviously we don't have that on our hands with this system. With a storm this weak, multiple vortices are a sign that is is struggling to get its act together.

Agree on that ULL--lots of shear is being induced by those two ULLs out over the Atlantic to its north. Lots of obstacles for this thing to contend with right now.
