That is bizarre. Truly bizarre. Obviously the GDFL foresees a stronger ridge building in, which would be the only explanation for its westward bias. Irene does appear to have corrected her poleward motion of earlier today and is headed seemingly due west now. Perhaps that's an early indication of a strengthening ridge, but I am very skeptical of a GoM path nonetheless. |
