So I have been wondering what was up with the GFDL and I asked NHC. This is the answer I got...
"The GFDL is one of the better-performing models, but, on average, is outperformed by the GFS and ECMWF at the longer ranges. That's not to say that it won't be correct this time, but because it's a regional model its performance tends to degrade at the longer lead times."
Short story, don't diss the GFDL yet... Take a look at it in 2-3 days |
