Well, we discussed this is a lot with Emily.........weak storms tend to drift more westerly and have a mind of their own. I remember when Georges came off Hispanola it was on life support and the entire track shifted west. Then, of course, it ramped back up in the GOM.
The GFDL may be thinking this thing gets ripped apart in Hispanola and drifts more westerly and then heads into Cuba.....they have it as basically a depression coming off Haiti. One thing is for sure.......she is going to take one mighty beating on Tuesday from these mountains. She's not taking the shortcut......she's taking the long way.....and the rocky way. |
