I hope they learned after Matthew when they had to basically swim back to their house to get their dog! She was on the bed and the bed was floating. I think they will come home to the NC mountains, but he is a charter boat captain and hates the thought of leaving his boat (which is his only livelihood) and not being able to get back to it. After Matthew the National Park Service was not allowing anyone on the island or even anyone coming in by boat to the docks. No one wants to get basically "locked out" of their home and business interests and NPS will certainly do it. It's a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship between the natives and locals and the NPS.
