Beachlover, I always think about you when the tracks head toward the FL Panhandle. I don't know what to do about evacuation this time for all the reasons you mentioned. We did manage to get our car serviced this week and replaced all 4 warped brake rotors. It should get us to an evacuation site if we can figure out where to make reservations. I will carry disinfectant spray and hopefully spray down all surfaces of any room before staying in it. We have the same issue with full fridge & freezer but see no way to salvage what is in them. I have enough to worry about with getting bins of family photos to a safe place and making sure we have meds with us. Sometimes the linemen get the electricity restored fairly quickly. Having no AC in August is torture and we do not have a generator. We should have moved to a mountain home in NY or VT a long time ago but have no idea how to accomplish that in our 70's with no family nearby to help. |
