My local NWS office over the last 2 years or so, has been for a lack of a better way to put it, doing an unusually lousy job of forecasting the weather, even 6 or less hours out in time. Not only has my local office seemed to have lost any and all skills in as far as providing accurate forecasts, the forecast discussions almost never reflect the numerical or graphical forecasts, and those discussions usually read as if they were wrote by someone who had to retake the 6th grade three times, before dropping out of school ! It looks to me like the NHC has gone beyond its better days to, so to speak !
Oh well,sooner or latter our failing educational system,along with the national revolt against reason and science,was destined to catch up with us!
