best pet we ever had

was an Eastern Hog Nose snake, my husband brought it home when he went camping with the kids &, remembering my Copperhead thing, I had said before they left, "keep them away from snakes!" so... of course they brought one home... it was pretty cool though, just a baby when they got it, maybe 6 inches, but about 3 ft when it died, years later - it would crawl up your arm, kiss your ear, sit on your shoulder... coolest pet ever
his name was Sneaky :) but it laid eggs several years after they brought it home, weirdest thing ever, of course they never hatched we had to toss them out of his aquarium, it seemed sad after that, died the next year
they used to feed a huge wolf spider in our back yard (never told me or I would have killed it)
likewise, they confessed they used to toss mosquito hawks to a shiny black spider that lived in our garage, it would crawl out of an overflow pipe from the water heater & eat them. After we flooded & had to remove the sheetrock/insulation, we found hundreds of spider legs from it shedding over the years, never saw it again after that |
