Typed for friends and family.
I am writing this before we do, but if I am sending this we're all good with the AC, dehumidifiers are on and the freezer still works. They have already done some things to our power box as of typing this. Two trucks have done something and there is at least one more to come. Some boxes they are replacing at the street. We have to have our breakers off when the power comes back on so a power surge doesn't damage anything. With everything off, then turn on the main and one by one turn on the others to make sure it goes well.
We'll have turned on the AC and two dehumidifiers to finally start getting the rest of the water out. Most of the carpet is pretty dry even before running those, but the rest of the house has gotten humid with having it opened up to let the air circulate some on its own. It will be nice to finally begin to get the humidity down. We'll be opening up cabinets, not because of flooding but just because it has gotten humid from having the house open.
We'll probably run the dehumidifiers at times for days, if not a week or more.
For the freezer, if I am sending this then it looks pretty good. We'll get any water out if there is any at the bottom.
We'll do laundry until 2025 probably. Once stuff dries we'll make piles in the house and wash it eventually.
A/C will feel nice. Hasn't been too bad a lot of the time when there is sometimes a nice breeze.
My dad fixed scrambled eggs this morning on a pan on our barbeque grill. He used some tablets used for cooking when camping, that we got when we hiked across the Grand Canyon in the 90s, to ignite the charcoal. Had some left over biscuits to go with it.
And now typing the end of this email, everything works. Sitting under a cool vent. We're lucky, they might not be able to fix some in the neighborhood tonight. They ran out of new boxes. I don't think they replaced ours. Our neighbor just said we're back and we were listening for third truck. For a moment we thought freezer was gone, but my dad used blower to blow the electronics that were still a little wet to dry them. Then the plug no longer reset. Ice cream is soup but still cool. Frozen bottles of water, still quite frozen. So looks good on that. Typing this quickly as we get things back on track. Will read stuff sent later.
