Thank ya'll for understanding.  I am no way in any shape a earth hater.  Heck we live wayyy out in the country and grow/raise alot of our own food, so we understand the balance.  I just don't like the politics that are starting already in D.C.

From a friend out there- Possibly doing frac work- injecting water into the ground to push the oil up, a high pressure gas pocket may have come up to the wellhead or BOP (blow out preventers).  If that bad boy came up the casing faster than the BOP's could cycle closed- an explosion would make sense.

3000 people PER DAY die worldwide in car accidents/350 PER DAY here in the U.S. alone.  are cars outlawed? no, BUT safeguards have been put into place to try and protect people.  D.C. is not complaining about cars.

Many, many endeavors man does has risks- from flying into space to exploring the deep sea. Exxon valdez was very, very bad- I agree on that.  Those accidents need to be looked into, and preventive measures put into place.  I just hope the politicians with their private jets and limos and mansions don't "punish" those of us in the oilfield.  We are already very, very nervous with the "health bill" and the "cap and trade" and so on.  :)
