Windows blown out in Chicago

Gust to 67 mph in downtown Chicago with a gust to 70 mph at the Harrison Crib water intake 3 miles out into the lake.  

Lakeshore Drive in Chicago was closed with numerous people trapped in vehicles.  

Some were trapped for 9 hours!

The Interstate in Kane Co. also has people stuck in stranded vehicles.  

The National Guard has been activated in Illinois where possibly "thousands of vehicles" have gone off the road or have been abandoned.  

123,000 customers are without power in the Chicago area.  

A Civil Emergency has been declared in SE Wisconsin with Snow Emergencies in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.
