Seems like it is much higher from what NHK is reporting. I wasn't sure if the original conference misspoke on the unit of measurement. But it looks like he didn't. The radiation levels now can now be harmful to humans.
I'm not sure what they mean in terms of evacuation or staying put. NHK says 0 to 20 km you should evacuate and 20 - 30 km you should stay indoors. I'm not sure what the official stance is on 0 to 20 km whether anyone left should stay put or try and leave at this point. |
