The spent fuel rods are a big concern

If the room housing the spent fuel rod pool exploded, then unless the fuel rod pool has a lid of some sort water and fuel rods were likely already pushed out of the pool.
With no cooling system working all we can hope for is that the Japanese can spray enough sea water to keep the pool cool long enough for the rods to cool down. I heard reports the spent fuel rod pool was above reactor and exploded. If these reactors all go down and melt, America is going to get an immigration problem the size of which it has never seen before. |
