Each reactor apparently has its own spent rod pool. We have not heard a lot about this. I read an article today about it and how this could be a problem if they were not cooled properly. I did hear on NHK a few hours ago, maybe in regards to the roof of where it is housed, that one of these pools was impacted, don't know which one, by one of the previous hydrogen blasts. They did not mention the status of the cooling system.
What you may be talking about is the explosion in reactor two which was apparently in the suppression pool. This would be different.
I'm not sure where the spent rod pools are located.
I could be wrong though, but that is how I understand things. |
