one of my brothers & sister-in-law in MN also both very recently got covid, they are in their early 70s & although both have been fully vaccinated, they had not yet gotten the bivalent booster


there is a monovalent version expected to be approved in September that 'targets XBB subvariants "elicits stronger neutralizing antibody responses" against XBB strains than current bivalent vaccines' https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/06/15/1182503195/fda-advisers-back-updated-covid-shots-for-fall-vaccinations
