Momentary wind as measured by dropsonde from that first pass
Posted by Chris in Tampa on 9/7/2023, 8:54 pm
A sonde measured a momentary wind of 154 mph at the surface. A shorter interval than even a gust, maybe a half or quarter of a second that it might be measured over, not sure. (sonde is falling from the plane so it isn't stationary and able to measure the wind at a certain level for any length of time)

207 mph momentary wind at the 918 mb level. The 925 mb level was at 581 ft, where there were momentary winds of 181 mph.
