In the northwest quadrant, the plane having reached partly into the eye itself at the end of the message.
Two SFMR readings right after each other had 175mph and 180 mph.
Flight Level Wind (30 sec. Avg.): 162 mph Peak (10 sec. Avg.) Flight Level Wind: 167 mph SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind: 181 mph
Extrapolated Sfc. Pressure: Not available
I don't know what to say about higher SFMR values than flight level. We'll have to see what the NHC has to say at 11pm. Maybe they will have gone through the northeast quadrant again by 11pm EDT.
And before posting, they have gone into the southeast quadrant:
Flight Level Wind (30 sec. Avg.): 138 mph Peak (10 sec. Avg.) Flight Level Wind: 143 mph SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind: 142 mph
Awaiting to see what the sonde was if one was successfully dropped into the eye.
