Looking at that blob, just north of Brazil, I'm wondering if that isn't some of the energy from the convection occuring where the airliner went down?
Also, I note this morning's GFS develops this into a Caribbean System then later disippates it in the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
As usual, I guess we'll need a few more days before getting a handle on it.
