Damn shame about your professor's reply. From his comment I'm not sure if he is riduculing those in favor or those against the connection between greenhouse gases and global warming. He should have answered your question in regards to the science of the matter, not make a crude joke relating to the horrendous political situation that exists in our nation now in Washington. He's only right in that his comment was sarcastic "you gotta love politics". Whatever your point of view, right or left, it doesn't seem to matter much anymore. Politics and money is everywhere, and uglier than ever. Its true, but he only adds to the situation by not responding to a legitimate question from a student with science, and not a remark that is also politcally related.
