As most of you know I frequent spaceweather.com alot for data and I will try to keep everyone filled in with some more frequency given the activity in the Atlantic.
Presently xray activity continues to be very very slow. In fact no activity at all in the past 24 hours. I mean NONE. Solar winds are slow, too, well under the 500 km/second thresh hold that hampers RI.
No sun spots for over 34 days, too. It's so quiet that a photographer was able to take a picture with a special camera of the space station as it passed between his camera and the sun, using a special camera. These images were framed in less than a half second it took for the station to pass in front of the sun. Pretty cool image, eh?
The storm of interest to me continues to be the 'A' storm, because it can follow the 'C' storm like Charley followed Bonnie, and I think the 'B' storm is a more likely fish if it continues to intensify so far way from the Americas. |
