this is what happens.  I foresee Alex in the very near future.  As others have said, I don't think this foretells a horrendous season, but it sure doesn't help decrease the chances either.

Dr. Masters pointed out the furthest forming storm on record in June was Ana in 1979.  This one might give that a run for its money.

My money is on a 50 mph tropical storm entering the islands.  Shear conditions are bad above 10 degrees, but the storm may get geared up enough to sustain itself for a good 24 hrs after encountering shear.
