One interesting note about Alex's intensity is that in this case the models were way out ahead of the forecasters. The models remained conservative on intensity and the forecasters remained puzzled about that. But the models must have anticipated the dry air intrusion and shear that kept Alex mostly at bay intensity-wise. So who knows, maybe the models are getting a bit better at forecasting intensity? |
