Just a thought.... When a hurricane is approaching we always hunkerdown in our camper just out of it's reach. Many times we have contracts that require us to be providing services within 24 to 48 hours of the storm ending. We always find a Walmart parking lot.... click on the generator and tune in the satellite. The parking lots are almost always filled with evacuee's doing the same thing. We use the camper for other things throughout the year.... It is nice not to fight the hotel crowds and to have that house on wheels. If the storm moves last minute so can you!

Side note: My family is from Xenia Ohio, no one lives there anymore, but two major tornado's have torn that town to pieces with little to no notice. At least you get a warning with hurricanes. Some people in Xenia have had there homes knocked down twice! I guess there are downsides to living inland as well!
