| The NHC uses break points for watches and Warning.NYC it's self (Manhattan) might not have gotten tropical Storm sustain,but in that break point includes Brooklyn(Kings) Queens and Nassau counties .If it did ever veer off corse it was "possible"that Nassau could have got sustained tropical storms winds,again" possible" while NYC would not.I think that is why the Watch was posted.I think they should just go by counties instead of the break point system they use now..I bet the Watch was put up mainly for Nassau county. |
