Shear forecast tells the story

Note that the shear forecast anticipates high levels of shear off the eastern seaboard THREE DAYS FROM NOW. See the 72 hr. graphic below. That suggests the trough will remain off the east coast for at least the next 72 hrs. If it doesn't get out of the way at some point during the current forecast period, then there's no way Florida gets hit by any storm that develops out of the invests we're watching right now:
