Directly around Florida, yes. But starting from the Georgia coastline on north to New England you see increasing shear in the 72 hr. graphic. That reflects the presence of a trough off the east coast--the one lingering there right now. Such a scenario would pull any storm that is approaching Florida from the Atlantic up the coast and out to sea.
