Beachlover, I can understand why beachman80 would think that it was "all wind". The devastation pattern reminds me of Andrew more than anything else, given that Michael was a borderline Cat. 5 upon landfall. Having said that, I have to agree with you that it was a combination of both storm surge and wind that caused the catastrophic damage.
