Re: Live Storms Media

I heard about it when it happened and no one knew how they made out for a bit. It seemed like they got into the house and then eventually the stream went dead while the car started being rocked by the waves after they got out. (probably floating some) But of course it wasn't known how bad the surge was after that point, such as if the house they got in was still there.

Most storm chasers had the sense to stay away from the surge, with only a remote camera if they had it, like Jim did. Jim was smart and stayed inland in his 10,000 pound truck. He mentioned that on the broadcast last night and I had no idea it was that heavy. If he adds even thicker glass of the type he had, which he mentioned, he'll be even better off if he intercepts a storm like this again. Still a risk of course, but any type of storm chasing involves it. But taking an afternoon drive directly along the coast of a landfalling borderline category 5 storm is a level of crazy that is hard to describe.
