They have still been doing stories here in Tampa too. As of a few days ago I would say daily. I'm not sure about yesterday. Today they were covering the deaths of three linemen restoring power that were sadly killed in the panhandle as a result of a drunk driver:

The station I watch most often, the local NBC affiliate (WFLA), is owned by a company that owns some stations in that area so that might be part of it too. That company had two stations that lost power during the storm in that region, in Panama City and Dothan, and provided coverage of the storm from here in Tampa for those stations. It's easy for the local affiliate here to do stories since they are owned by a company that owns multiple stations in the area still covering it.

But generally, after a storm, everyone forgets. I don't hear much about Harvey (nothing), Irma (some, but rare, and it impacted the area) and Maria (not much, but maybe as much as any of the others) from last year. Even Florence from this year. I'm sure there is a lot more coverage in the regions themselves, but it's sad that it is usually only on the first anniversary and then maybe not again until 5 or 10 years later. I can't believe there hasn't been any coverage that I've seen on the news channels I watch about the category 5 storm hitting the US. That's 50,000 people that just got impacted in the Northern Mariana Islands. About 50,000 on the main island that got at least some of the eyewall and several thousand on the island that the eye went directly over.
