Stormy's latest

Aww, c'mon!!

Typhoon Prapiroon isn't giving our lovely team of models much to work with - so they're arguing again. The prediction you see here is from the Japan Meteorological Agency, which is forecasting our "Thai God of Rain" to continue to the Northwest and work its way toward Okinawa sometime early next week. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center is still forecasting a miraculous turn to the Northeast. The Stormy Center of Incredibly Hard to Pronounce Tropical Storms is ordering doughnuts. Oh, like you're surprised.

While our models duke it out, Prapiroon is "quasi-stationary" - which is weather-guesser speak for "not really moving much." It IS getting stronger, with 95-knot sustained winds and an 18-mile eye. But until it starts moving again, it's going to be pretty hard to predict just WHERE it will be going. However, it isn't likely to arrive until AFTER the weekend (if it arrives at all), and will weaken substantially before it gets here (if it gets here at all), and will change its name to just "Prap" and be known as the "Thai God of Light Drizzle."

Stay tuned, stay safe! Stormy
