Yesterday, I rode a jet ski from one end of Santa Rosa Island to the other and I didn't spot one slick or tarball.  Today I rode my bike from Navarre Beach to Fort Pickens.  I swam in the gulf and I watched probably 100 news trucks with reporters searching for a dang tarball.  I didn't see any myself.  I was going to keep it in a zip lock if I could find one.  There were hundreds of workers in bright yellow vests and chemical boots walking around on the beach.  A charter bus was driving them up and down the island dropping workers off at different points.  Mostly they were sitting around under tents or sitting on the bus in A/C.  I don't think they found many tar balls.  Our friend working the beach in Perido Beach said that they picked up 600 pounds today total.  Of that I would expect 90% by weight to be sand.

I'm not saying the oil is not coming but it's not on P-Cola yet.  The water is about as nice as I've ever seen it.  While in the water I was surrounded by a school of Speckled Sea Trout chasing finger mullet in the surf.  They looked very happy.  What is happening in south Louisiana is horrible and BP must certainly pay for this.  Hopefully the rest of the Gulf Coast will continue to be spared.
