our dog

I can't imagine not having Seymour in our home. He's a Terrier mix, was an SPCA rescue adoption, had an amputation of a back leg about a week before, about 50 clamps & a whole lot of abrasions from an auto accident when we got him. I'm amazed how well he has healed & adapted, he never even required a cone.
His orthopedic beds have removable covers & are washed weekly - his toys might need a soak, I didn't think about that before. Although I wouldn't want him chewing on disinfectant, I can wash the non-porous ones, he loves his Kongs
When it started getting serious in the US, our vet let us get a year's supply of ComboGuard & we stocked up on the dry food the SPCA recommended, got a food bin that holds a large bag & seals & latches to keep bugs & moisture out. Chewy might be an option for food delivery going forward https://www.chewy.com/ We would need to order far enough in advance for the extended delivery times & letting it sit in the garage before using it.
We waited almost 10 years after losing our last dog to adopt, it's so hard to lose them & they are like family members. I have read news that adoptions are up in the US, I hope that is the case. It would be great if everyone already had their animals spayed or neutered & the breeders put the brakes on for now at least.
