I heard from one person that a lot of the piles of debris didn't blow around in Dana Shores, but I don't know. I came around the other way as I expected that area to be flooded by fresh water and all the debris that people had piled up removing things from their homes after Helene. I just missed a news report about a reporter that drove through there, but they were reporting on flooding, freshwater I assume, in Town 'n' Country where I live. They said 70% of Hillsborough and Pinellas were out of power.
We were so lucky in my neighborhood. Some minor roof damage at some neighbor's houses. Dozens of red concrete tiles blew off and shattered off the neighbor's house across the street that I borrowed all the driveway pavers from. Some shingles off another house. Eaves a bit damaged on another's neighbor's house. A tree kind of fell on a neighbor's house, though I don't think it caused much damage. Just emailed her pictures and video of that.
I did actually sleep some in the car last night. But we have some earth and pavers to move to get the car into the garage when done emailing people I have emails for with pictures. I think my next door neighbor just came home. Can't look out window because they are all boarded up. And I'm leaving most of them there for a bit.
Have the news on but not paying much attention yet to the pictures and videos around the area. I assume it's really bad to the south.
Thanks again for keeping people up to date during the storm, including me. |
