Good afternoon Conclue.

My field of study?

In probably the worst mistake of my life, I opted not to go to college. In 1970 I graduated from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland...and that was the end of my schooling.

A more complete picture...

1.) Since a very young age I've always been an avid reader. My earliest interest was science fiction! As an adult my reading interest has mostly been around history and science but then I like an occasional Stephen King, Tom Clancy, etc. (Remember; too much work makes Jack a dull boy!)

2.) Walt Whitman High is an exceptionally good public school (though to be honest, I was a mediocre student with the bad habit of cutting classes.) My favorite subject? You guessed it; science. (Strangely enough, my most difficult subject was always English! - Those classes were brutal!)

3.) I went to USAF "tech school" at Keesler AFB in Biloxi in 1971 for "strategic air defense systems."

4.) I received a "certificate" from Computer Learning Center in 1978 for Computer Programming. (I did well as a student and learned COBOL, FORTRAN, RPG, and Assembly language on an IBM 360.)

5.) I've taken courses at several community colleges but none involving science.

My work history is erratic with too many changes of jobs and even fields of work. Overall, most of my work history involves computers (from operator to analyst,) but I've done sales, carpentry, bartending, stock trader/analyst... even done the morning shift at McDonalds! (My first job was dishwasher for $1.25/hr - minimum wage then.)

I've not worked since moving here to North Carolina in 2003. (And that's not for a lack of trying either.) Financially, I barely survive....but have not given up on the future. (I've been rich and I've been poor....and trust me, the former is better, ha-ha!)

All in all, I think of myself as knowing a little about a lot of things without knowing a lot about any one thing. And for what little I do know; I give credit to the life-long habit of reading and to my high school teachers for teaching me how to think instead of what to think (especially my 12th grade English teacher!)
