Jim, the NHC has been arguing in each discussion that Irene will be slow to weaken due to her large size, like so, from the 5 p.m.: SINCE IRENE HAS SUCH A LARGE AND INTENSE CIRCULATION...IT WILL PROBABLY BE SLOW TO WEAKEN.

What do you make of this line of reasoning regarding Irene's intensity forecast?
