ive heard of strong damage reports... other areas got less winds than they were expecting
at any given time some band comes thru and you can get great video i saw great video from miami beach too ... one band that went thru and the video all came from that band... maybe two bands
it's not about bands.. it's about the way the surf looks, sounds, feels... over several hours at different locations. I was at hallandale and at south beach.. both the same... almost flat ocean with swells... one after the other and a few white tops... a band danced off shore and the wind picked up, ocean rolled and five minutes later the RED FLAG for winds... drooped totally... flat.
1pm... not even palm fronds blowing.. barely moving
water swollen, swells... steady towards shore, mild to strong undertoe.. one wave got me but not up to where i had fones in my pockets...
never seen such annoyed surfers ever
I'm just saying i don't think it has the "energy" that is being attributed to it..
there is energy and energy
WIND MACHINE energy = wild wind
TONS OF WATER energy = rain/flooding rain
See stats below and this is just a few... Mind you while we were there we got an upgrade to Cat 3...we were like "huh?"
