If I remember correctly, we used to give more credence to the more focused hurricane models when we were only a few days away from landfall.
I don't understand why Jim is dismissing the HWRF forecast for a Florida landfall.
Dorian's interaction with land in the Bahamas could account for a pivot in direction that might only be measured by a more focused hurricane model.
Also, HMON seems to pivot back and forth just west of the Bahamas, which does not inspire much confidence that Dorian will avoid Florida.
