Three vaccination sites setup by Florida: Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami

There might be another one still near Miami at Hard Rock Stadium. They are for people 65 and older or frontline health care workers. I let a neighbor know yesterday shortly after I saw it posted on Hillsborough County's site that they were partnering with the state and one was being opened in Tampa. She was able to get an appointment for Monday. You call and leave your information, on what I think is an automated system. Then they call you back at some point. She had a phone issue, or they did, and she got disconnected. But she called the number back later that they had called from and was able to schedule her appointment.
https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/ They have a link to places to get the vaccine in the state of Florida: https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/vaccine-locator/
https://www.floridadisaster.org/covid19/ This is the Florida Division of Emergency Management site.
At least for the Hard Rock Stadium site, if that is still being done, they call or email you a few weeks after your first appointment to make the second one, so anyone who gets it needs to find out how that still works.
I don't know how long these vaccination sites will last, but anyone who qualifies for them and lives near them in Florida can look into them. 1,000 to 1,600 appointments per day depending on the vaccination site.
Meanwhile, I did get my grandmother an appointment for tomorrow in Tennessee. She was on a waiting list and after some website issues which seemed to reset the list, I contacted her county health department about it and the state of Tennessee and eventually I was able to confirm that she got an appointment.
I should note that even after people get both shots, they need to be really careful still. That's what my dad will still do. He won't change his behavior at all after he has both. |
