Re: I got a Moderna booster today (it's a 1/2 dose), to boost my J&J vaccine from early March

It must be confusing. I wish they would have just opened boosters to everyone 18 and older every 6 months since supply doesn't seem to be an issue in the U.S. (and when trials are done, kids too) I assume they will eventually. There are very safe, so the questions are about how needed it is. But it definitely does help, so I think people should have been allowed to get the booster if they choose, not checking the very long list of underlying conditions first. The vaccines do wane. They seem to do well against serious illness still, but you're definitely more protected with a booster. But I guess for the people that need it most, they can get it at least. And most people could get it right now if they wanted, it's a long list of underlying conditions for those that don't qualify in another category.

Since it was approved last night by the CDC director, I was glad to see Walmart had their site ready to handle appointments reflecting the changes. Some places used to accept walk-in appointments, but I think some changed over time.

I think CVS might be confusing because they have walk-ins at MinuteClinic locations ("*FOR WALK-INS: Subject to vaccine availability.") but that is not the same thing apparently as the CVS pharmacy.

https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine

"How can you schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine at MinuteClinic? Are walk-ins allowed?
COVID-19 vaccines are currently available to all patients 18 and older at participating MinuteClinic locations. Currently, customers can walk-in to a participating MinuteClinic location and register for an appointment at the kiosk outside the clinic or add-on the vaccine if they are visiting the clinic for another health care service. Soon, patients will also be able to schedule a vaccine online at MinuteClinic.com."

I looked at the MinuteClinic locations and they are only at a few CVS locations.
