It's good you got it in the end. Usually when the decision is handed down from the CDC, I'm the first one inquiring about the coronavirus shots at local pharmacies. I'm usually the one letting them know that the decision was made and to be on the lookout for the guidance. It does take them some time to get the information from the chain of command in their companies, which most I think need before they will actually give it. Though in this case, Walgreens had days to get the guidance and started it the day before you tried to get it. I guess there were very few people trying to get it where you are since they weren't aware.
Some of the reservation systems are confusing. At first I made an appointment for my dad at Publix since it accepted it. Of course I selected it as being a booster shot, but it was the second booster. It didn't specify. We called and found out that they weren't giving the second one at the time we called and decided to cancel the appointment and wait a few days to make sure they had some extra time to get things sorted out. Since we did his last one at CVS I just made that appointment there April 1st, he called to make sure they were doing it before that, and it went very easy.
I'll get mine as soon as they authorize it for my age group. Though I might wait a few days to make sure they are ready whenever that happens. For my dad, I want to get it as soon as possible. I go out even less, so I can wait a little longer. |
