Did Deepwater Horizon Screw-Up the Loop Current?

I am a little skeptical yet, but interested to find out more.

Could be a lot of hype mixed in with this.

But, could explain no TC's in the GOM this year and if the Gulf Stream has stopped would also explain the deep Omega Block that set in around Dec. 1.
