I usually get my science from sources other than rense.com, but maybe that's just me?  I believe that story has been circulating on conspiracy theory websites for quite some time.  The website the good Dr lists in his credentials says you can be listed as an expert with them for 30 Euros after their "board approval" http://www.associazionegeofisica.it/EspertiCertificati.html

I believe that a string high pressure system centered over the central / southern US had more to do with no landfalls in the gulf than the Deepwater disaster
