I don't want to start a fight, I have never done that on this board but REALLY?!?

That is not a paper, a paper is peer reviewed science in a professional journal.  This is stupid garbage not science.  We ALL heard all summer about how the Loop Current sheds eddies and breaks off in cycles.  I know this because I was in US Coast Guard briefings and had to monitor the BP disaster all summer including the loop current forecasts as part of the Incident Command System for my local government.  This guy is a con artist who is just comparing two years of data and he has no hypothesis and no testable data and no methods or alternative explanations.   Correlation does not equal causation.

The loop current is not a stable feature, it changes over short and long term cycles like the rest of the ocean and the atmosphere (remember, like hurricanes???).

I do not claim to understand the physics, I am only a biologist, not an oceanographer, but I not science when I see it- here is some.
