I have to wonder if this guy knows anything about the loop current in the first place. To suggest an eddy detaching from the loop (a normal occurrence) "destroyed" the loop current seems a preposterous statement.
When I see mainstream scientists showing alarm over the loop current...then and only then will I sit up and take notice.
My personal suspicion regarding our so far, back-to-back odd winters...is that our highly anomalous solar cycle minimum is at least one of the main culprits. (I assume all of you are aware the fact we've been "stuck" at solar minimum for several years now.)
Explaining the Sun's cause and effect is difficult (it includes the stratosphere and magnetosphere as factors in -NAO blocking) and my understanding is admittedly vague...but putting together a slew of odd-shaped puzzle piece; I am led to believe the Sun is a key factor in our recent goings on.
The more I study all these things, the more my brain turns to jelly, lol. Talk about complex stuff....good grief!
