I'm a little worried from looking at the convection on visible satellite loop that we could have underestimated the speed that Michael will grow.
The cloud tops south of Cuba seem to be pushing into the stratosphere, so the center pressure may see a faster drop over the next few hours than recently forecast, a rise in the maximum wind speeds should soon follow. An eye may form south of Cuba...
The earlier Michael strengthens the earlier he could pivot during an Eyewall Replacement Cycle. And a pivot could send Michael further towards the West.
