Right, Chris. I guess I wasn't clear - I should've asked who said landfall would officially be "near Tallahassee" (and this question is aside from the fact that Tallahassee isn't all that close to the Gulf for landfall, at least not in my book, FWIW). And that's because we're continually asked not to pay too much attention to the centerline, but rather to the entire cone, which is, after all, part of the forecast track info. To me the cone is the forecast area, and stated the way it was, the thread title made it seem that "near Tallahassee" was a given, along with the intensity, which the NHC continues to say (as almost always) is the least certain of their forecast abilities. |
