Well, thanks very much for all the info, Chris, but honestly I don't think I'll look at anything that isn't a lot more accurate (hopefully the NHC mapping will be, and from what you've said, that should be out tomorrow).. Don't need to scare myself any more than the NHC is already doing with their non-specific warnings about areas prone to surge.
At the moment (unless track shifts back west) it would appear that we shouldn't be seriously affected by surge here, regardless of our vulnerability/shallow offshore shelf, but we do have hotel reservations a short distance inland in case the dreaded evacuation is ordered. Fingers and toes crossed here - we're getting too old for this, and should probably move, but we're too old for that also. Ha.
