I know James. Its a crime, a sin, what we've done to our coast and ocean. I'm as frustrated with this as anybody. I'm just old enough to know about the law of unintended consequences too. Our move away from fossil fuels will happen, and it will probably be on the order of the industrial revolution (of the 18th and 19th centuries). That most fundamental of changes (away from an agricultural based economy) had profound effects on the politics of the world. Some not so good. In America it wasn't fully accomplished until the most destructive war in our history (AMerican Civil War). Overseas it helped bring about totatilitarian regimes in Russia and China. What makes this present situation in America even more serious is the delay of the past 30 years. Now are hand is being forced. The change is necessary is constructive. But don't be surprised by the unintended consequences.
